The Gateway to Higher Education is an in-house mission that awards yearly scholarships to those pursuing higher education.

The Montreat Youth Fund is an in-house mission that seeks to help the youth of EPC attend the Montreat Youth Conferences.

In all these ways, we hope to be a gentle, steady neighbor who uses our land and resources to bless the wider community, to reach out through mission and to be a welcome place in our corner of the world. 

Missions

 

Missions are local and global at Emmanuel. We provide hot meals and high protein goody bags to Oasis for teens in Nashville facing homelessness. Nearly every Sunday we stop by Maple Village to share from our community garden or take needed items, and every holiday we take special treats…and lots of love. Emmanuel supports the Bill and Bette Bryant Crisis Nursery in Zambia and the PC(USA) in Cameroon. Beyond this, we partner with other local PC(USA) churches and support the missions of the broader PC(USA).

Thanks to all your wonderful support, EPC has put together 460 Goody Bags of food for Oasis to distribute to homeless teens/young adults aged 18-24 (382 bags were delivered June -
September, with another 78 to be delivered soon!

Oasis also provides hygiene packs (personal hygiene items) and welcome kits (for homeless teens for whom housing is arranged and who then need household items). We would like to expand our support to the hygiene packs and welcome kits as resources allow.

If you wish to do the shopping yourself, please take note of the preferred content for each type of assistance. Our volunteer will then assemble the donations into packages easily distributed by Oasis. These lists can also be found posted on the bulletin board in the hallway of the church.

If anyone would like to participate but can’t get to Costco or the Grocery Store, we have a donor who is more than willing to do the shopping for you. (You can send a check to the church, and in the memo line simply write "Oasis Project").

 

BILL AND BETTE BRYANT CRISIS NURSERY

*IN LUSAKA, ZAMBIA*

The Bill and Bette Bryant Crisis Nursery is a safe place deeply rooted in love, prayer, and tender concern for toddlers and preschoolers who critically need specialized nutritional and psychological care. Dedicated social workers assess the children and work to place them into a family. Authorities work diligently with the home staff trying to locate any family that the children may have in the area. We at EPC are honored to partner with the Outreach Foundation to love and support The Bill and Bette Bryant Crisis Nursery.
