PRELUDE Great is Thy Faithfulness William Runan

CALL TO WORSHIP

Gracious God, you spread a table in the wilderness and multiplied five loaves into more than enough. You call us your own. Let us rejoice, we are your own.

PRAYER OF INVOCATION

HYMN #465 How Firm a Foundation vs 1, 2, and 5

CALL TO CONFESSION

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Merciful God, we confess that we come to your table hungry, but not always honest about our hunger. We have hoarded what you meant for sharing. We have counted the loaves instead of trusƟng the giver. We have drawn lines around who belongs at your table, forgetting that the table was never ours to guard. Like Paul, we grieve the ways we have been divided from our own flesh and blood. Forgive our small hearts. Forgive our short supply of mercy. Feed us again with grace, and send us from this table as people who multiply, not withhold. Amen.

(moment of silence)

AFFIRMATION OF FAITH Please stand with me as we say together what we believe, reciting the Apostle’s Creed: I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontious Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and seated on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
