  • Butterfly habitats should be woven into all parts of our landscapes—farmland, utility corridors, solar arrays, bike paths, roadsides, natural areas, and backyard and community gardens—to provide homes for common and wide-ranging butterflies as well as rare and at-risk species. This will take concerted effort but helping butterflies thrive will, in turn, have immense benefits for human health and well-being

    •  July 31– EPC hosts American Red Cross for a blood drive from 2p – 6p 

    • August 2 – Confirmation for Jefferson and Michael Takop 

    • August 2 – Building Improvements Committee meeting (every 1st Sunday) 

    • August 2 – Mission and Fellowship meeting to prep for Bridal Shower 

    • August 6 –Presbytery meeting at Bellevue Presbyterian Church. (See Christian Education section) 

    • Aug 9 – Mission and Fellowship meeting 

    • Aug 9 -- Mission/Fellowship meeting (every 2nd Sunday) 

    • Aug 9 – Bridal Shower for Mollie and Emery Marshall (see Fellowship section) 

    • Aug 18 – Men’s luncheon 11:30 at Asian Bistro 

    • Aug 31 – Jane’s last day before sabbatical

    •  Needed – any size rinsed out tin cans. Put in box outside children’s classroom. 

    • Sign up to bring flowers for the front of the church. See Sue for more details. 

    • If you want any Christmas décor items from the “discard” pile, claim them now! It will be removed next Sunday.

  • Adult classes:  Adults meet Sundays at 9:15

    Youth classes: Will meet after worship in the children’s classroom

    Visioning Team Update: 

    The 2026 Visioning Education Team conducted 3 in-person Townhalls and 2 Zoom Townhalls.  Reach out to BarbHalverstadt –epcbusiness9770@gmail.com or 615-473-3510 if you missed them and have questions.  Please plan to attend the Aug. 6th Presbytery meeting at Bellevue Presbyterian Church to vote on the Vision Report (registration at 9:00 am).

    • Check the bulletin boards in the hallway for current events and activities.

    • Suggest changes for session to consider by using a form in the file box outside Jane’s door.

  • Next Men’s lunch will be at 11:30 on Aug 18 at The Asian Bistro. Contact Fred for further details.

  • Coming up… Budget and Stewardship:

    • Stewardship season will begin Sept 13th with distribution of pledge cards. 

    • Pledge cards will be due Oct 11 

    • Budgeting will begin Oct 1 and end Nov 7th 

    • Please share any budget items or suggestions that impact the budget with a session member prior to Oct 1.

    3. Give Online–send an electronic payment

    4. Use the “give” button on EPC’s website, www.epcnashville.com, connects with a PayPal payment option. PayPal collects a fee that will be deducted from your donation.

  • Roots Ministries/Roots Urban Farm:

    • We are continuing to collect plastic clamshell containers so please bring your clean lidded containers to the children’s classroom, hang on hooks on wall.

    Support our Teachers:

    • Ticonderoga sharpened pencils

    • Expo wipe off markers

    • Kleenex

    • Candy

    Sara has requested:

    1. Stickers or pencils with positive messages to give kids.

    2. Fidgets- Preferably silent and the least distracting as possible

    3. Paper plates for paper plate awards

    Red Cross Blood Drive: 

    • We still need more donors so they will not cancel our Blood Drive. 

    • Please sign up to donate if you can, and if you can’t please tell your friends, family and others about the blood drive.
